KCPT’s main transmitter went down around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, which may have affected some viewers’ ability to watch the season finale of the hit series “Downton Abbey”
Engineers were able to get a backup transmitter to work by 7 p.m., the station reported on its website, but that transmitter has a weaker signal. People trying to view the station over the air may get a choppy signal or none at all.
The outage came at an unfortunate time, less than two hours before the finale of the third season of “Downton Abbey.”
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused for so many viewers and ‘Downton Abbey’ fans,” the station said on itswebsite
The season finale will be available on the web on Monday and will be rebroadcast at 9 p.m. Thursday and at 6 p.m. Sunday.
