Possible suicide call leads to murder charge in Knob Noster

A report of a Knob Noster woman shooting herself turned into a second-degree murder charge against her 23-year-old husband, authorities said Sunday.

Anthony Garcia is accused of killing his wife, Danielle R. Garcia, 24, at about 1 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was charged with one count each of second-degree murder and armed criminal action with bond set at $250,000.

Johnson County deputies were sent to investigate a possible suicide early Saturday and they found Danielle Garcia on the kitchen floor with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

After further investigation, detectives arrested Garcia.
