Berlin, a 23-year-old female polar bear, went on exhibit Thursday at the Kansas City Zoo. She will be on exhibit through Monday.
After that, she and Nikita, the zoo’s 6-year-old male, will take turns on display. The schedule will be posted at
. Eventually the two will be together.

zoos in Minnesota
There are fewer than 70 polar bears, a threatened species, in captivity in North America. Kansas City is one of about a dozen zoos with a potential breeding pair.
