Several Metro bus routes in Kansas City will change Sunday, including the addition of Zona Rosa as a stop on the 142-North Oak route, via Congress Avenue.
That route also will run on Sundays and later into the evening.
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority said the changes, the third round this year, are creating a more efficient system that is easier for customers to use.
The 30-Northeast route will extend to the Northeast Industrial District and will replace the 126-East Fifth Street route. This route also will run more frequently and on weeknights and weekends.
A new 15-Truman Road route will serve Truman Road and downtown. The 12-12th Street route will use 12th Street on all trips and extend to 31st Street and Van Brunt Boulevard.
The existing 47-Roanoke route will be renamed 47-Broadway, with service on Main Street, Broadway, 47th Street and Blue Parkway.
The existing 51-Broadway route will be renamed 51-Ward Parkway, with service on Southwest Trafficway to the University of Kansas Medical Center, the West Plaza area, Ward Parkway and the Linden Hills area.
The ATA said changes that went into effect in July have resulted in a nearly 2 percent increase in ridership.
