Two hold victims at gunpoint during KC home invasion robbery

Two gunmen stole cell phones and electronics, including equipment from a small recording studio, during a home invasion robbery early today.

A 20-year-old resident saw a shadow in his backyard in the 5400 block of Skiles Avenue about 12:30 a.m. When he went outside with two others to investigate, a gunman ordered them all to the ground and searched them. The gunman demanded money and stole their cell phones.

Meanwhile, a second gunman barged into the home and ransacked it for valuables. The second gunman found a 24-year-old man sleeping in a bedroom, woke him and forced him outside with the others on the ground. The gunmen took turns guarding the residents at gunpoint and searching the home for items to steal. They loaded the stolen property into a vehicle and fled.
