Plaza fountain's walkway gets a lift

The concrete on the sidewalks surrounding the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain had cracked and was becoming a hazard. Kansas City Parks & Recreation hired Leath & Sons Inc. of Raytown to replace the sidewalks, and crews were out working on the project Thursday. The new concrete on the Country Club Plaza landmark should last 20 to 30 years.
