Gladstone police this morning increased patrols near bus stops where two students said they were approached by a stranger.
The incidents occurred Tuesday afternoon and involved female students from Oak Park High School and Northgate Middle School student.
The high school student said she was approached after she got off a school bus near 67th and North Forest streets. The middle school student said that she was approached at 67th Street and North Broadway. The incidents were about two miles apart in Gladstone. Neither student was harmed.
The incidents prompted North Kansas City school officials on Wednesday to send letters of caution to parents about the incident.
Gladstone spokesman Richard King said patrols would increase near bus stops in Gladstone.
Authorities believe the same man approached both girls. Both incidents were reported to school officials Wednesday morning but no police reports had been made, Kings said.
