Police find missing Olathe boy, father

A 6-year-old Olathe boy who authorities said was taken under duress by his father on Thursday was located about 10:30 a.m. today in the Platte City area.

“The boy and his father are in good health,” said Olathe Police Sgt. Grant Allen.

According to authorities, Kalvin Jacob Willis was taken from a house in Olathe by his father, 31-year-old Aaron Jacob Willis, after the father had a violent altercation with his girlfriend. The father made several comments about harming himself before leaving with the boy, police said.

Allen would not say whether the boy’s father was in custody nor would he release any further information.

Olathe Police thanked the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Platte County Sheriff’s Department and the Platte City Police Department for their assistance in the case.
