Bob Jones of Kansas City is worried about a stretch of Barry Road between U.S. 169 and Thomas Meyers Drive because the concrete looks to be deteriorating there. It’s already very rough to drive over, and he’s concerned that it will only get worse when winter arrives. Can anything be done?
The Missouri Department of Transportation is taking responsibility for repairs, and the worst spots should receive “partial depth pavement repairs” by winter, the department said.
“This section of roadway is also included in our 2012 minor road construction contract that includes pavement repairs and an asphalt overlay,” said Shelie Daniel, the department’s area engineer for Platte, Clay and Ray counties.
Partial depth? The Watchdog says that’s about as far as his thinking can go on a holiday weekend.
