Two could face charges in Olathe dog shooting

Police have cited the man who killed a dog in an Olathe park Monday and they are trying to get back in touch with the dog’s owner.

The man who shot the Siberian husky was cited for carrying a concealed weapon without a valid permit.

Police want to talk again to the husky’s owner, which they said was not licensed and had been allowed to run loose.

Police mistakenly said earlier that both men had been cited.

The incident happened in Two Trails Park, 1000 N. Ridgeview Road, after the husky attacked one of two dogs the armed man was walking on a leash, police said.

Police have not released the men’s names.
