Olathe boy, thought to be missing, found safe

Olathe police say they have found a missing 8-year-old boy playing in a field close to his home.

Police Sgt. John Roland said he does not know why Jordan Wynn decided to skip school, but he is safe and back with his family. Jordan was reported missing Wednesday afternoon after he didn't show up to school.

There may be minor repercussions, Roland said. “He’s probably going to be grounded for a little bit.”

Officer Brian Little found Jordan, or rather his canine tracker dog did. Draco the German Shepherd was working the field with him at about 1:30 when he caught a smell, and Little said he followed him and saw a boy stand up."Are you Jordan?" he asked.

It was and his family members came running, Little said. He and Draco left, he said, and Draco will get a reward.

"It was a relief knowing we found the kid and he was safe," Little said.
