A Kansas City police officer on a motorcycle was injured Tuesday in a collision in the Northland. The wreck happened about 12:40 p.m. at 51st and NW Waukomis Drive.

A Kansas City police officer on a motorcycle was injured Tuesday in a crash in the Northland.

The officer suffered injuries that weren’t life-threatening, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

The wreck happened about 12:30 p.m. at 51st and NW Waukomis Drive while the officer was responding to assist another officer regarding a naked man on the highway who was under the influence.

The officer was passing traffic on the left when the driver of a Dodge Durango attempted to turn left onto 51st.

The motorcycle and the left side of the Dodge collided and the officer was ejected.

Witnesses reported the officer had been using lights and sirens.

The driver of the Doge wasn’t injured and was released after providing a statement to police.

The officer was later in stable condition, Kansas City police said.
