Blaze at vacant house jumps to two other homes, heavily damages all three

An overnight three-alarm fire that started in a vacant house near downtown Kansas City spread to two others, heavily damaging all three buildings.

The fire was reported about 2:25 a.m. Tuesday in a house near Forest Avenue and Admiral Boulevard, which is just east of downtown Kansas City.

The fire spread to two homes on either side of the vacant house at 623 Forest Ave. No injuries were reported in the blaze.

Fire investigators remained at the scene Tuesday morning looking for the cause of the fire.
