Basketball fans in town for the Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament will have a larger, crisper and better sounding big screen to watch at Kansas City Live! in the Power & Light District.
The entertainment district announced it has installed a screen that is more than 39 feet wide and 17 feet tall. The district says the image has three times the digital quality of the previous LED screen.
The Cordish Companies, which manages the district, partnered with Harvest Productions of North Kansas City and Infinity Sign Systems of Kansas City to create the flexible screen, which can be raised and lowered.
Cordish also installed an upgraded D&B Audiotechnik sound system.
"Guests can expect to enjoy a more well-rounded sound during concerts, games and other events as D&B's processing system allows audio engineers to fine tune and create a consistent sound from the front row to the back row," the district said in announcing the upgrades.
The old LED screen and sound system was installed in 2012.
The Big 12 tournament starts Wednesday at the Sprint Center, across the street from Kansas City Live!
