The man killed when he rear-ended a truck hauling logs on Kansas 7 Monday morning was identified as Dennis W. Wagner, 54, of Lansing.
Wagner was killed in a crash that occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. along southbound K-7 at Marxen Road, which just south of the Wyandotte and Leavenworth County line in Kansas City, Kan., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The truck, a 2013 Freightliner dump truck, was headed south on K-7 and was in the turn lane to go left on Marxen Road.
Wagner was driving a 2006 Chevrolet passenger car south on K-7 and struck the truck in the rear.
Wagner, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 29-year-old Cameron, Mo., man, was not injured in the crash.
