A motorist was killed Sunday evening after crashing his car at 35th Street and Brooklyn Avenue while trying to flee from Kansas City police in a car connected to a missing teen girl.
Officers responded to the crash just before 8 p.m. Prior to the crash, police officers discontinued the pursuit after several attempts to pull over the driver, according to Kansas City police.
The victim’s name has not been released.
A computer check showed that the fleeing car was wanted in connection with a missing juvenile out of Kansas.
The fleeing motorist sped eastbound on 33rd Street and drove past a stop sign at Troost Avenue when it was struck by a northbound car, police said.
A 17-year-old girl who was a passenger in the fleeing car was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was a 75-year-old woman. She was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
