Streets from near State Line Road, through the Country Club Plaza and near U.S. 71 will be blocked off part of Sunday morning for the 7th annual Plaza 10K Run/Walk race.

This year’s event is expected to attract nearly 3,000 runners and walkers from as far away as California and ranging in ages from seven to 87. The event benefits St. Luke’s Home Care & Hospice.

Streets involved in the event will be closed starting around 7:15 a.m. Streets on the western part of the race will reopen after participants have advanced through the course. The course runs mostly along Ward Parkway and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.

All streets affected by the race should be reopened by about 9:30 a.m., organizers said.
