A construction lift collided with a streetcar traveling northbound on Main Street in Kansas City Thursday morning. The lift scraped the side of the streetcar shattering glass on the entire side.

A construction lift struck a northbound Kansas City streetcar Thursday morning.

The 11:20 a.m. incident happened at 20th and Main streets. The glass on the east side of the streetcar was fractured. A scrape mark ran the length of the streetcar.

A construction worker taken to the hospital as a precaution. There were no other reported injuries, said police Sgt. Scott Simons.

Streetcar service was suspended. RideKCTransit buses will be provided for passengers.
