High water on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning clogged the Kansas City downtown loop for westbound traffic.
A gush of heavy rainfall that began shortly before 8:30 a.m. forced at least one vehicle to get stuck in high water near the Main Street overpass and backed up traffic on the interstate for less than an hour.
The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the scene, but its trucks left the area by 9:30 a.m. There were no injuries reported. The interstate was cleared by 9:50 a.m.
