Southbound I-35 on west side of KC’s downtown loop to be closed for pavement project

The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 on the west side of Kansas City’s downtown loop will be closed this weekend for a resurfacing project. The two right lanes of southbound I-35 also will be closed from Interstate 670 to the Cambridge Circle.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 on the west side of Kansas City’s downtown loop will be closed this weekend for pavement resurfacing.

The closure affects the stretch of southbound I-35 from Broadway Boulevard through Interstate 670. As part of the project, the two right lanes of southbound I-35 also will be closed from Interstate 670 to the Cambridge Circle.

The closures begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

The following ramps will also be closed:

▪ The ramp from Broadway to westbound Interstate 70.

▪ The ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-35.

▪ The ramp from southbound U.S. 169 to southbound I-35.

▪ The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-35.

▪ The ramp from 12th Street to southbound I-35.

▪ The ramp from 13th Street to southbound I-35.

▪ The ramp from eastbound I-670 to southbound I-35.

▪ The ramp from Broadway to southbound I-35.

Traffic affected by the closures will have to find alternate routes.
