Eastbound Interstate 70 in Wabaunsee County, Kan., was closed Sunday night because of a fatal vehicle crash.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said the highway was closed at 8:45 p.m. a mile-and-a-half west of the Paxico rest area. That is west of Topeka.

Traffic was being diverted on Kansas 99 to U.S. 24 and U.S. 75. The interstate was expected to be closed four or more hours.
