Excelsior Springs has issued a 48-hour boil order for most of its residents as a result of a water main break, authorities announced Friday.
The main break that occurred near Corum Road has been repaired. City officials said the areas not affected by the boil order are downtown and the east side of the city. Households in the other portions of Excelsior Springs should boil their water before consumption or use.
Residents are encouraged to purchase bottled water until the boil order has been lifted.
