City, state and federal officials are expected to gather at 2 p.m. May 9 for the grand opening of a new job assistance center in Kansas City.
The facility at 6025 Prospect Ave. is the newest Missouri Job Center operated by Full Employment Council Inc. The building also houses offices for the National Association of Construction Contractors Cooperative.
The two groups have been working for about three years on initiatives to improve the training and hiring of workers in the construction trades.
