The Internal Revenue Service says it needs to hire 1,800 part-time and full-time workers in Kansas City for tax season.
At the IRS center at 333 W. Pershing Road, they will do such tasks as opening and sorting mail, organizing files, entering data from tax returns and reviewing returns for accuracy, the IRS said Thursday.
Some of the jobs are classified as temporary, meaning they run from three weeks to three months and sometimes longer. Seasonal employees normally work at least four months and sometimes return year after year, the IRS said. Pay will depend on the job and the applicants’ experience and education.
