Wage rights rally is Wednesday in Kansas City

Members of Kansas City area labor unions and worker advocacy organizations plan to rally on behalf of prevailing wage rights for non-union workers at 10 a.m. Wednesday in front of the Jackson County Courthouse on Independence Square.

The event, led by members of Construction and General Laborers Local 264, is designed to call attention to wages paid for work on Jackson County’s Commonwealth Project. Non-union workers have alleged they were underpaid, harassed and retaliated against on the public works project.
