200 packaging jobs coming to KCI business center

AP

A St. Joseph company is expanding its packaging operations in Kansas City with plans to hire 200.

BMS Logistics Inc. has leased 432,000 square feet at KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre. The company plans to begin operations at the site in January to accommodate an increase in its customer base.

“It’s all new capacity,” said Bart Bond, the company’s manager of national sales and marketing. “We’ll still need all of our people up in St. Joe.”

BMS Logistics operates in facilities in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Pennsylvania.

The site will assemble and ship palletized displays, which are large corrugated containers to hold and present a product often in the aisles of retailers, and smaller versions called PDQs for store shelves.

BMS Logistics’ new operation also will include retail fulfillment services, which involve warehousing and shipping clients’ products to fill customer orders.

Job applicants can email a resume to jlucas@bmslogisticsinc.com or mail it to BMS Logistics Inc., 3601 S Leonard Rd., St. Joseph, MO 64503, Attn: Janie Lucas, Human Resources Manager
