The corporate owners of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas are betting their championship name will play large on the Internet with the planned launch of their real-money gambling website. Aflac is withdrawing from the Medicare supplement market after results fell short of goals in the first year. Medicare supplement plans are offered by private insurers to fill in gaps for the U.S. program for the elderly, including paying for out-of-pocket expenses not covered by Medicare. Teen retailers, led by Aeropostale and Abercrombie Fitch, have been deepening discounts and adding sales days to draw young shoppers into stores amid high unemployment and the absence of a major fashion trend. Aeropostale offered a promotion every day from July 14 through Sept. 7, and the average discounts were deeper than the previous year in at least five of the eight weeks in that period, according to SaleTally data analyzed by Bloomberg News. Yahoo isn’t the only Web property with a new look. Microsoft’s Bing search engine is unveiling a revamped website with a redesigned logo. The brand’s new typeface was “created to be simple, real and direct” and better match the font used on other Microsoft products.
