Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has entered the market with a new Lawrence restaurant.

It opened Tuesday at 2435 Iowa St.

The company was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, La., and now has more than 260 restaurants in 21 states. Multiple locations are under construction, including two area locations.

A Blue Springs location is scheduled to open May 24 at 1000 N.E. Coronado Drive. A Westport location is scheduled to open June 7 at 4040 Mill St.

The company is currently interviewing prospective employees for the 70 to 80 positions at the Westport location.

The chain is known for its premium chicken fingers (fresh, never frozen), as well as crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw and Texas toast.

Grandview’s new Wingz & More

Katie Benner and Chris Murray have opened Wingz & More at 11902 S. Blue Ridge Blvd., Suite C, Grandview (just west of Interstate 49).

The restaurant specializes in wings with a variety of sauces, including tropical habanero and honey mustard. It also offers daily specials like meatloaf or tenderloins, as well as hamburgers, salads and sides like sweet potato waffles and fried pickles.
