After 20-plus years on the Country Club Plaza, O’Dowd’s Little Dublin is getting a makeover.
It will temporarily shut down at the end of business Sunday and reopen in early September when it will debut new branding, decor, a logo and a “chef-driven scratch menu.”
The restaurant, at 4742 Pennsylvania Ave., will feature accordion-style windows that open up to the Plaza during nicer weather. A large “social table” seating a dozen people will be the focal point on the main level.
The rooftop patio will have a retractable awning, new heaters and furniture, a custom high-top fire table and a renovated bar.

Craft and imported beers will be available on tap, as well as in bottles and cans. The new O’Dowd’s will also have an extensive whiskey list, hand-crafted classic cocktails and wines.
It will continue to offer live music and dancing daily, but with a new sound and video system.
O'Dowd's Little Dublin took over the Tavern & Top Deck space, opening in late 1996. Its parent-company is KC Hopps Ltd., owner of such concepts as Blue Moose Bar & Grill.
