The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City awarded $596,897 in applicant grants in June to 13 nonprofit organizations that are working on health-related causes and programs in the metro area.
The grants, capped at $75,000, went to Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation, Blue Springs School District, Community LINC, Community Services League, Curators of the University of Missouri, Ellis Care, Historic Northeast-Midtown Association, Jewish Family Services, Kansas City Anti-Violence Project, ReDiscover, SAVE Foundation, Shepherd’s Center of Kansas City Central and Synergy Services.
So far in 2016, the foundation has awarded about $4 million to nonprofits that applied for specific needs under a funding program that allows one application each a year. Applications are reviewed monthly. In the latest round, the foundation reviewed 21 proposals seeking a total of $1.3 million.
