After 100 years with its headquarters in the Kansas City area, Lee Jeans on Wednesday named a local native as its new president.
Chris Waldeck will lead VF Corp.’s Merriam-based denim brands Lee and Rock & Republic. Waldeck, a former vice president and general manager of Reebok International Ltd., said in Lee’s press release announcing his post that he was excited “to lead such an iconic American brand.”
Waldeck has more than 20 years of industry experience. He has been responsible for brand marketing, merchandising, public relations and finance. He held several leadership positions throughout his years with Reebok.
In the Lee press release, VF President Phil McAdams relayed his excitement about Waldeck joining the Lee team to “propel” the business.
