Munday on Monday: Just a dusting

Just a dusting

You always hear

Come winter time

A “dust of” lurks

In forecast line;

Which means, of course,

That snowflakes fell;

But other “dusts”

Can fall as well.

Yes, weeks removed

From winter’s wrath

There’s still “a dust”

To cross our path.

Consider this:

A dust of green

On fresh-washed cars

Now mars the sheen.

When dust of gold

Descends from trees

We hope that you’re

Prepared to sneeze.

So any hue

That falls as dust

For allergies

Will prompt disgust.
