KC's Wild West touch: Police horse patrol is downtown

Two Kansas City police officers and their horses were strolling through downtown's streets over  the noon hour Monday.

They stopped at the red light at 13th and Main streets, then went left - after one officer signaled a left turn with his arm, naturally - at 14th Street. The officers were waving at bystanders and generally moving at a slow pace. One car tried to move around them - until he was stopped by a quick hand of the horse-mounted officer who thought the car would be too close to the horse. After incoming traffic slowed, the officer waved  the motorist around the horses. Ah, the incongruities of being in downtown KC during All-Star week.Yael T. Abouhalkah
