Auditions for KC SuperStar, Kansas City’s high school singing competition a la “American Idol/The Voice,” have been set for March 30 and April 3 at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City.
Singers need to attend only one audition. Finals are Aug. 28 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
KC SuperStar will award a $10,000 scholarship to the best high school singer in the Kansas City area.
Judges for the preliminary auditions are industry professionals from the area, including Samantha Agron, Lisa Burns, TJ Klein and Whitney Smith. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing one song of their choice, a cappella. Solo singers from all backgrounds, representing the full spectrum of musical genres and from across the metro area, are encouraged to audition.
