National Day of Prayer is Thursday
▪ The Liberty Memorial grounds, 100 W. 26th St., will be the site of services Thursday beginning at 11 a.m. Prayers will be offered for the nation, church revival, political officials, public schools and reconciliation. The Calvary Bible College choir will perform, and the service will conclude with the Hallelujah Chorus.

Free class on trust in relationships
Kehilath Israel Synagogue will offer a free class for adults on relationships and trust taught by psychologist Marilyn Metzl.
Metzl, of Psychological Educational Associates in Kansas City, treats adults, adolescents and children. “I Love You But I Don’t Trust You” will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Spitcaufsky Library at the synagogue, 10501 Conser, Overland Park. For more information, call 913-642-1880.
Women in the Bible
Just in time for Mother’s Day, a Kansas City pastor will discuss the topic of the roles of women in the Bible.
The Rev. Emanuel Cleaver III, senior pastor at St. James United Methodist Church, will present the “Fearless: Women of Unshakable Faith” series during 8 and 11 a.m. services at 5540 Wayne Ave. Esther is the subject Sunday, followed by Rahab on May 10 and Jochebed on May 17.
