Tomato ripening experiment

I've had a good tomato harvest this year, but I've brought them all indoors to ripen. About ten days ago, though, I decided to try and reduce the sunscald on the fruit, so I draped landscape shade cloth over all the plants. The temperature under the shade cloth is noticeably lower, especially near the interiors of the plants. (After searching all over several years ago, I found great shade cloths on the Lee Valley Tools website.)

I picked about ten pounds of red, ripe beautiful tomatoes this morning. Could be coincidence, maybe not. Dennis, any thoughts? - Tina -
