Weird aster behavior

The fall blooming asters are acting up this year. My Professor Kippenburgs, which usually grow and spread like weeds, are struggling to do much and some never came back at all this year. There isn't much I can do about those, but the others are doing just the opposite. Boltonia 'Snowbank' and 'Alma Potschke' are starting to bloom, in spite of my trimming them back twice already, to keep them from flopping and delay bloom times. It's only the first of June. I can't stop them from blooming, but since I have never seen this happen before, I want to know if these asters will rebloom later in the season after I've trimmed off the initial spent blooms. I would like to think I'll have some color this fall. - Gugsi -
