Want to get your hands on the next sriracha?

Tune in to KCTV5’s “Better Kansas City” Thursday morning when Jill Silva, Chow Town food editor and blog curator, stops by to talk about Asian hot sauce with the show’s co-hosts.

Silva recently reported on the growing interest in gochujang for Chow Town’s inaugural issue in mid-January.

While reporting her story, Tabasco released its version of sriracha. And earlier this week Heinz issued a press release announcing it would be marketing a spicy sriracha ketchup available at Target and Wal-Mart. Suggested retail price is $2.69.

Just in time for Valentine’s day, Silva rounds up a variety of popular hot sauces she purchased at 888 International in Overland Park, 10118 West 119th St. Her finds include gochujang, a typical accompaniment served with Korean barbecue.

“Better Kansas City” show airs from 9 and 10 a.m.
