Getting thirsty while you’re collecting Pokémon around Kansas City?

The Roasterie Cafe has a fix. The local coffee roaster has debuted a new drink in honor of the popular app, Pokémon Go. The Shiny Chaimander ($3.79, 16 ounce) will be available at three locations: Brookside, Leawood and off 27th Street and Southwest Boulevard.

The Shiny Chaimander is a concoction of chai concentrate and sparkling water. Its name comes from Charmander, one of the Pokémon characters you can catch in the augmented reality app.

Mike Valent, director of operations, said the staff loves the drink, which has bitterness from the sparkling water and sweetness from the chai. He said some customers have been making the drink their own by adding almond milk.

Even when the Pokémon Go craze calms down, fans of The Shiny Chaimander can still get the drink.

“Even if it isn’t being advertised, we always carry the ingredients so we can make it,” Valent said. “It will be available forever.”
