Mark your calendars, Food Network fans: Alton Brown is bringing his Eat Your Science tour to the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland on May 9.
The tour, which starts in April and stops in 40 U.S. cities, blends comedy, music, puppets, cooking demonstrations and crazy scientific experiments into a two-hour show. According to a news release, Brown will also select assistants from the audience.
VIP tickets cost $100 each and have already sold out, but as of Wednesday afternoon, there were still tickets available in the $35-$49.50 range at axs.com. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on May 9, a Monday.

Brown is a culinary expert known for hosting “Cutthroat Kitchen,” “Iron Chef America” and “Good Eats.” The James Beard award-winning author’s new cookbook, “Alton Brown: Every Day Cook,” comes out in September.
This won’t be Brown’s first appearance in Kansas City. He brought his Edible Inevitable tour to the Midland in 2014, and in 2011, he spoke at Unity Temple on the Plaza while promoting his New York Times best-selling “Good Eats” cookbook series.
