As the temperatures drop, warm your insides with the comfort of walnut apple crisp.

The simple recipe can be whipped up in a matter of minutes and ready to serve in no time.

Quick Walnut Apple Crisp

Serves 4-6

4 Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (My favorite is a mix of Honey Crisps and Granny Smiths)

1 stick Butter, unsalted

½ cup Flour

½ cup Brown Sugar

½ cup Walnuts, chopped

Dash of Nutmeg

½ tsp. Kosher salt

Preheat an oven to 375 degrees.

Place apple slices in the bottom of a pie plate.

In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients with your hands. Mix

until butter is broken into nickel-sized pieces and the mixture begins to stick to itself when held tightly in the palm of your hand.

Place the flour/walnut mixture over the top of the apples.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crisp is a dark brown and the top is crispy.

Allow crisp to cool for five minutes before dividing it between bowls and topping with vanilla ice cream.
