Looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with an icy margarita in hand? Consider stopping byPort Fonda
, which debuted several new margaritas over the weekend.
The Westport Mexican restaurant and bar has a new summer cocktail menu that features a Port Fonda-Colada ($12). The slushy frozen drink is a mix between a margarita and a pina colada. Bar manager Caitlin Corcoran makes it with Tres Agaves reposado tequila, coconut, pineapple and lime.
Corcoran also makes an avocado margarita ($10.50) with Tequila Cabeza (blanco tequila), Triple Sec, raw Mexican sugar, avocado and cilantro. Margarita purists might prefer La Classica ($9.50), a simple but perfect blend of reposado tequila, Triple Sec, agave and lime.
Can’t decide which one to order? Port Fonda serves a $16 margarita flight, which consists of four three-ounce pours of the bar’s signature margaritas.
