Mimi’s Cafe is leaving the metro

Officials with Mimi’s Cafe have confirmed that they are closing their two Overland Park restaurants on April 13.

The freestanding restaurants are at Oak Park Mall, 11885 W. 95th St., and at 8301 W. 135th St. Stroud’s pan fried chicken has already announced plans to open in the 135th Street building in early June.

Mimi’s Cafe entered the market in mid-2002.

In a statement today, Bill Schaffler, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Mimi’s Cafe, said: “As we remain tenaciously focused on positive financial results and continue to assess where we are best positioned for long-term success, we have made the difficult decision to close both the Oak Park and Overland Park restaurants as of April 13. We appreciate the time we were able to treat the people of Overland Park to a delicious taste of France at Mimi’s and invite them to visit any of our other locations whenever possible.”

But that won’t be in the Kansas City metro.

The other Mimi’s Cafe closed in Zona Rosa in September.
