Eatocracy names Boulevard’s Reverb Imperial Pilsner one of 2013’s best summer beers

Boulevard’s Reverb Imperial Pilsner

is one of this summer’s 13 best beers, according to CNN’s food website

Eatocracy.

The limited-edition Smokestack Series brew “would make for a perfect housewarming gift or picnic beer this summer,” writes

Eatocracy’s

beer columnist

Nathan Berrong

. Berrong adds that Reverb Imperial Pilsner, unlike many pilsners, has “no flaws” and is “the work of craftmanship.”

Berrong also recommends

Firestone Walker Pils

,

Samuel Adams Boston Lager

and

New Glarus Brewing Company’s Thumbprint Berliner Weiss

as “refreshing” and “easy to drink” summer beers. Read the full list

here.

Reverb Imperial Pilsner is sold at liquor stores in 750-mL bottles and on tap at bars that carry Boulevard’s seasonal Smokestack Series releases. According to the brewery, it should be available for a few more weeks.

On my list of super-refreshing summer beers: Boulevard’s

KC Pils

(previously known as Boulevard Pilsner), Tallgrass Brewing Company’s

Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat

, Free State Brewing Company’s

Stormchaser Summer IPA

, Deschutes’s

Twilight Summer Ale

, Bell’s

Midwestern Pale Ale

, Unibroue’s

Ephemere Apple

and

Grapefruit Stiegl Radler

, a

canned summer shandy

made with pleasantly tart grapefruit soda.
