Spin! Neopolitan Pizza on the rise in Southern California

Spin! Neopolitan Pizza

just added another location -- in Southern California.

The Kansas City-based pizzeria, founded in 2005 by Gail and Richard Lozoff and Edwin Brownell, recently opened its first franchise location in Orange, California, near the Angels Stadium of Anaheim.

Operating the newest Spin! is Hofman Hospitality Group, which has completed a deal to open 37 (yep, 37) Spin! restaurants in Southern California. To put that in perspective, there are five Spin! restaurants in the Kansas City area: One each in Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Lenexa, Overland Park and Olathe. A sixth is under construction in Prairie Village’s Corinth Square shopping center.

Spin!, a fast casual restaurant, specializes in bubbly, stone-fired Neopolitan pizza with gourmet toppings devised by Kansas City chef

Michael Smith

. The company was

named a 2013 “breakout brand”

this year by

Nation’s Restaurant News.

The pizzerias also serve sandwiches, salads, gelato, and a selection of affordably priced wines. If you prefer to bring your own vino, go on a weekday (Sunday-Thursday), when the corkage fee is just $1. On Friday and Saturday, the fee jumps to $5.
