Mother’s Day and brunch go together like buttermilk pancakes and maple syrup.

in Prairie Village is preparing a three-course fixed price brunch ($21.95 for adults, $8.95 for kids). The customizable menu includes Buttermilk Donut Holes with strawberry sugar, Pea Pesto Fettuccine with asparagus and mushrooms, and Blackberry Cheesecake with a graham cracker crumble.Avenues Bistro
in Brookside is sweetening its regular Sunday brunch (which includes your choice of breakfast or lunch entree plus unlimited trips to a brunch bar overflowing with pastries, antipasto platters and salads) with chocolate-covered strawberries and truffles. The bistro’s brunch costs $16.95 if you order a breakfast entree (eggs benedict, brie and bacon omelette) or $21.95 if you order a lunch entree (lobster ravioli, filet mignon).
AndCooper’s Hawk Winery Restaurant
on the Plaza, which only recently started serving Sunday brunch, is handing out complimentary glasses of sparkling wine to moms who brunch there between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. On the food menu: Parmesan-crusted lobster tail and Mushroom Roasted Salmon with fingerling potatoes.
