That extra guacamole you pay for in line at Chipotle can now be made in seven easy steps at home, thanks to the generous souls at the fast food chain who released the recipe this week.
According to Chipotle, making the perfect guacamole “starts with sourcing the best whole ingredients possible, and ends with a quick mash in our restaurant.”
To make the guacamole, you’ll need:
2 ripe Hass avocados
2 tsp lime juice
2 tbsp cilantro (chopped)
1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
1/2 jalepeño, including seeds (finely chopped)
1/4 tsp kosher salt

Choose the right avocado. It should feel squishy yet firm, and be a nice dark green color on the inside. Cut to avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop the avocados and place in a medium bowl. Toss and coat with lime juice. Add the salt and using a fork or potato masher, mash until a smooth consistency is achieved. Fold in the remaining ingredients and mix well. Taste the guacamole and adjust seasoning if necessary.
