Shakespeare’s Pizza, a Columbia, Missouri, staple, is slated for demolition, the Columbia Tribune is reporting.

Shakespeare’s current building at 225 S. Ninth St. will move 220 S. Eighth St. in late May in preparation for renovations.

Once completed, the new building will be a “multistory structure with Shakespeare’s as the main tenant,” according to the Columbia Tribune.

Shakespeare’s lovers need not worry about a new design once the new space opens.

Kurt Mirtsching, the restaurant’s manager, told the Tribune that Shakespeare’s will have the same look and feel as the original.

“We've taken 360 digital photos of the place,” Shakespeare's Manager Kurt Mirtsching told the Tribune. “Basically, we’re doing everything we can possibly do just shy of numbering the bricks and taking them apart piece by piece.”

Fans of the famous Columbia pizza didn’t take the news lightly on Twitter, to say the least.
