Boulevard Brewing Co. plans to deliver its first cans of Heavy Lifting IPA in the Kansas City metro starting March 30.
Stores, bars and restaurants will receive the cans on their normal delivery day, so some may not receive the beers until later in the week. Then the canned beer will be rolled out to its other markets.
In late January, Boulevard announced it would offer four fan favorites in cans in addition to traditional bottles. It has not released a launch date for cans of Unfiltered Wheat Beer, Pop-Up IPA, and Ginger Lemon Radler.
The company describes Heavy Lifting (6.2 percent ABV and 80-plus IBUs) as having Centennial, Amarillo, Topaz and Citra hops and a minimal malt base composed of Boulevard’s base pale malt and a touch of Munich malt. It will be offered in six packs of 12-ounce cans.
