We’ve got three words for you: Royals. Doughnut. Milkshake.

The bright blue concoction is the invention of Donutology, a science-themed doughnut shop at 1009 Westport Road. On Wednesday, pastry chef Jacob Knerr showed us how it’s made during a broadcast of Chow Town Live (watch the full show here).

Knerr started by combining Belfonte vanilla soft serve with Shatto’s blue cotton candy-flavored milk in a blender. Then he tossed in three of Donutology’s mini white cake doughnuts and blended it all up until it was as smooth as an Alcides Escobar double play.

The pastry chef squeezed in a bit of food coloring to make the Royals-inspired blue color pop, then poured the shake into a plastic cup and piled on plenty of whipped cream. A thick blue straw decorated with a sprinkled doughnut (because why not?) topped off the decadent 20-ounce drink, which costs $5.75.

Donutology’s Royals doughnut milkshake is $1 off the day after the team wins. Unfortunately, it won’t be discounted Thursday — but there’s always Friday, right?
